£50,788 - £54,918 per annum plus a £2,264 market rate supplement
Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bedford Borough Council Finance team for a CCAB/CIMA qualified Financial Accountant. Bedford Borough Council is one of the fastest growing unitary authorities and there are some inspiring projects in the pipeline, where a determined, detail focused candidate could make a real difference.

Bedford's Finance team is designed to be an effective partner to the service: driving decisions upfront to improve performance, including Bedford's diverse capital programme, which includes road and rail upgrades.

You will be responsible for supporting the closure of accounts processes and production of the annual Statement of Accounts, supporting the annual external audit and management of the councils fixed asset register.

You will also provide advice and support relating to technical accounting issues to finance and non-finance staff across the organisation.

You must be able to work at pace and have excellent communication skills, as you will be talking to a wide range of financial and non-finance stakeholders.

You will have a broad remit, access to wider developmental opportunities and the support of experienced finance professionals throughout the team.
