An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the Corporate Finance Team at Hull City Council as a Principal Finance Officer. As a senior member of the Council finance team and you are CCAB or CIMA qualified, then this position may be of interest to you.
This permanent role is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in finance, gain hands on experience in a busy public sector environment and access to future gain opportunities. We have flexible hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement to attend the office two days per week, and support career growth, knowledge and personal development.

As we work to deliver our Community and Council Plans to secure the best for our 269,000 residents, the finance function is a dynamic and influencing corporate team.
We are looking for someone with good accounting knowledge, who can interpret and analyse complex data along with a robust understanding of financial processes and procedures. The role will provide a chance to lead on service area financial modelling, budget setting and forecast monitoring, whilst working to provide support, advice and guidance to operational managers and budget holders.
The successful applicant will hold effective communication and analytical skills, working with diverse teams across a large organisation. As a leadership role within the finance function, this role is an ideal opportunity to further management skills and collective staff development.
