Interim Deputy Chief Accountant

Ambient People is working with a London borough who are seeking an experienced individual to join a dynamic corporate finance team as a Deputy Chief Accountant.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to key areas within corporate finance, including Technical Accounting, Fixed Assets, and Taxation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, Fixed Assets, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and monitoring financial controls.
• Act as a point of contact for external auditors, ensuring smooth communication between auditors and the finance team.
• Take ownership of specific finance processes, ensuring team members are trained and processes are followed consistently.
• Ensure that areas of the accounts are compliant with Internal Financial Reporting Standards and the CIPFA Code of Practice for Local Government Accounting.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial support and enhance the accuracy of the Statement of Accounts.

This position is flexible, with candidates not required to be office-based unless attending meetings.
