Interim Finance Professional

A London Borough is looking for a finance professional to provide ongoing support to the financial reporting team. This opportunity requires previous experience in financial closedown processes and the ability to ensure compliance with local government regulations.

The team is well resourced but needs extra support which means the council are flexible on experience and can mould the role to suit the successful candidate.

Preferred areas of expertise within local government:

• Overseeing or assisting the closedown process and financial reporting.
• Collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance financial operations.
• Providing guidance and support to the accounting team regarding closedown.
• Experience as a senior technical accountant, such as a Deputy Chief Accountant or Chief Accountant.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in local government accounting.
• Strong knowledge of closedown procedures.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
