Financial Analyst

Salary: £36,648 - £38,223 per annum, plus a Market rate Supplement £3,400
Hours: Full time, 37 Hours per week
Contract: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Schools Finance Team for a Financial Analyst.

Full or any level of part time hours will all be considered for the right candidate. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic finance professional to be part of our team.

Applicants must be AAT qualified (level 4) or an equivalent level accounting qualification. Previous experience of a similar role in local government is desirable but not essential. You must be able to work at pace and have excellent communication skills as you will be talking to a broad range of financial and non-financial stakeholders.

The team works with maintained schools to support their budgeting, forecasting and general Finance processes. You will be required to investigate and resolve queries from schools, as well as make payments, complete government grant returns and support with the National Funding Formula process from the DfE.

Employees benefit from a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days, rising to 32 days after 5 years continuous service. The team work flexibly both in terms of hours and place. You can work from home, or you can work in the office, dependent on business need. You will also be visiting schools across Bedford Borough on a regular basis.
