Corporate Close Down Accountant

Are you an experienced Corporate Close Down Accountant ready for your next challenge? Allen Lane are supporting a Local Authority client with the recruitment of an interim Corporate Accountant on a 9-month interim basis. This role will play a key role in leading the Close down of their Accounts process and support its finance business partnering function.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Closedown of Accounts Process:  Leading the account closedown ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Preparation of Statutory Returns -  Prepare and submit all necessary statutory returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Team Management - Oversee a Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Assistant, guiding them through quarterly monitoring and budget setting for Resources, CEX, and the Mayor’s Office.

Key requirements:

Proven track record in Local Authority closedown processes.

Strong technical skills in producing financial statements and notes.

Excellent leadership abilities and experience in budget management.

This interim role offers hybrid working with the expectation that the successful candidate will work on-site at the Council offices once every two weeks
