About the Role:
In this role, you will be instrumental in influencing decision-making across the Council through comprehensive financial planning and analysis. You’ll work strategically with all Finance functions to develop robust financial models that underpin our short- and medium-term planning. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and maintaining a strong Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) that ensures the Council’s financial health.

About You
We are looking for an experienced local government accountant with an indepth understanding of financial planning and strategy. You should be comfortable explaining complex financial issues to senior leaders and have a proven track record in developing and delivering balanced budgets.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you’ll work closely with finance teams and other stakeholders to achieve common goals. Working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines will be second nature to you, and your proactive approach will help tackle financial challenges head-on.
