Executive Director of Finance (S151)

Inheriting a stable team that is performing well but keen to do even better, you’ll be tasked with developing a finance function that will drive and enable radical transformation across the entire council – we’re looking for someone who can provide financial resilience and sustainability, whilst also encouraging fresh thinking and innovation – enabling us to be the best that we can be.

So, as a collaborative and inspirational leader, you’ll look after all things finance, and will have statutory responsibility under Section 151 of the Local Government Act. This means you’ll bring expertise across accounting, financial planning, budget preparation/control, and financial systems. However, more importantly, the ability the provide sound strategic financial advice and challenge to members and senior leaders will be required for success.

In addition to being our finance lead, you will also support the wider BIG50 future vision. This is a strategic area-based blueprint, rather than an organisational one, which is focused on improving the lives of our residents.
