Job Details

Would you like to work at a local authority who are determined to level up inequality? If you want to be part of a committed finance team who work collaboratively, are ambitious and creative we would love to hear from you.

An aspiring and motivated local authority are looking for a highly capable Finance Manager to join their team and work on the Housing Revenue Accounts. They have clear goals to build an organisation where employees feel valued, inspired, and empowered so it’s key that you share in these values in order to provide the best services possible to residents.

As part of the role, you will contribute towards the development and implementation of the council’s financial strategy, working closely with all stakeholders reviewing and updating on risk and opportunities. You will also ensure systems and procedures that enable effective budgetary control and advise Assistant Directors and Strategic Managers on funding and financial management.

You will prepare and present informative, high-quality reports to members and other senior stakeholders that inform decision making. Key to the role is acting as a financial advisor and service delivery partner, providing strategic support and contribute to the delivery of a high performing, customer focused finance service that is proactive and creative.

The role manages a team of five people and is tasked with encouraging and developing staff and fostering a high-performance culture.

It’s not essential that you have housing experience, but it is highly desirable. It is however essential that you are a qualified accountant, ideally with local government experience. We are still happy to hear from those who have a housing association or public sector background.

The Council have hybrid working model of one day in the office and excellent pension contributions to name but a few benefits.

If you would like to find out more about the role and how you can apply, please contact Will Thomson WillThomson@IvyRockPartners.com 07392 653 878 or Will Ryan willryan@ivyrockpartners.com 07909030965.
