Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
2 Year Fixed Term Contract
Hybrid working, 2 days in office
Offices located in Westminster
My client is a national not-for-profit organisation that provides support across numerous infrastructures. The Finance department is a shared services function working across the organisation to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective finance service, and helping to co-ordinate joint projects where appropriate.
We are looking for a Finance Operations Manager to take responsibility for running the day-to-day effective working of our Finance Processing Team, ensuring that we continue to deliver our business-as-usual processes during a time of significant change for the team. You will be confident to manage the day-to-day workload of the team, ensuring that service level agreements are met, and using KPIs to monitor and manage performance. You will be able to engage effectively with customers, resolve complex queries and ensure the team delivers, looking for opportunities to improve and streamline processes ahead of the larger scale transformation activity.
Key areas of responsibilities;
- Manage a wide range of stakeholder relationships across the NCIs, wider Church (e.g. dioceses, cathedrals, parishes etc.) and external suppliers and customers, understanding their needs and developing customer-focussed solutions and processes
- Work with the Head of Financial Accounting & Operations to support business continuity planning and testing
- Inspiring and implementing a continuous improvement approach with the processing team to ensure high quality, streamlined processes and controls
- Working with the Finance Systems team to make best use of the finance system in operational processing, including increasing automation in processing and improving the integrity and quality of data in the system.
- Evaluating team roles and responsibilities to ensure the most optimal structure and ways of working to support effective delivery
Who are we looking for?
- A formally qualified or part qualified accountant with strong understanding of accounting principles and VAT
- Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral, able to communicate effectively with finance professionals, senior management and trustees, and non-accountants to achieve cooperation and results
- Considerable experience of managing operational processing teams in a complex, high volume environment
My client offers hybrid working with established training and team practices to ensure full support and engagement at all times.
If you are looking to develop your career in charity finance or change sectors, then this is the position for you.
