Year End Accountant

Allen Lane are currently assisting a Council based in the South of  England with the recruitment of an Interim Financial Accountant to support the Chief Accountant with the Year-end close down. Reporting to the Chief Accountant this role will be responsible for the effective management of the year-end process.

Key duties include:

Assisting with the  Production of the year-end accounts

Assisting with the production of the financial statements

Supporting on the annual Audit

Making sure that the draft accounts are robust before the audit

Dealing with Auditors and associated Audit queries

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with significant experience in Council year-end close down including financial statements and Audit. Experience of year-end close down in a London Borough or Unitary Council is highly desirable.

This role is for 3 months initially and will operate on a hybrid basis with 1 days per week in the Office. This is an urgent role so only candidates who are immediately available or on short notice periods can be considered at this point.
