Commercially driven and forward thinking Unitary authority in the home Counties require a Finance Systems Manager who will lead, develop and maintain the Council’s corporate financial systems. They will develop the Council’s financial systems to provide excellent financial information in a cost effective and efficient way, negotiate between users and Information Management to maximise technology and its benefits. Maximising the use of existing systems and software this role will create lean processes within the service area and aid all system users across the council.
Summary of key responsibilities;
- Determine the strategic direction for projects relating to the various systems that are used by and developed for each of the functions within Corporate Finance and other related systems
- Design, develop, maintain and control interfaces into the corporate financial systems
- Provide expert financial advice through being the Council’s main expert in report writing for the systems maintained.
- Be the Systems Administrator for the integrated suite of financial software and other related systems, ensuring that the integrity of the Council’s General Ledger is maintained
In order to be successful in the role, we are looking for an experienced finance systems professional that has a high level of experience of using finance systems and complex spreadsheets ideally in a local authority setting. Advanced (macro level) excel, able to use a variety of scripting and report writing tools such as Crystal and VBA. Civica system experience is desirable but not essential. They will be a strong project manager, able to co-ordinate projects and lead the team.
