1x Accountant - Salary £40,221 - £42,403 p.a.

We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team which provides Financial Services to, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services. We are also looking for Agency/Interim staff to start as soon as possible for a minimum period of 6 months.

As an Accountant you will deal with all aspects of budgets and budget management, both revenue and capital. This will include providing specialist advice and support to both Finance colleagues and Budget holders. Reporting to the Senior Accountant you will provide insight and analysis to support financial plans, identify future budget risks and opportunities, and contribute to the timely delivery of the statutory statements of accounts. 

You will have strong decision-making skills, able to work independently, able to prioritise your own work and be ready to meet tight deadlines. Applicants must be qualified to full CCAB level or be actively studying towards this.

​1x Senior Accounting Technician - Salary £33,945 - £35,745 p.a.

We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join our Finance team which provides Financial Services to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services.

Reporting to an Accountant, you will provide support in delivering on all aspects of budget and budget management of the Fire & Rescue Service. This will include the monitoring and analysis of payroll costs to inform budget forecasts and financial decision making. The role will also involve providing advice and support to Finance colleagues and budget holders.
 
You will be a pro-active team worker and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

Applicants must be qualified to AAT Level 4 or hold an equivalent professional qualification. Ideally, you will be looking to continue studying to CCAB level.

Previous experience of working within Management Accounts and providing analytical information is essential for both roles. The organisation prepares its statutory accounts in line with the Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting. Candidates with a Local Government Finance background are encouraged to apply.
