Your new role
This role will deliver timely and high quality business planning and financial reporting for the Council’s two wholly owned housing companies. This will include year-end reporting in line with RSL and limited company reporting. Investing 4 Brent (established to reduce homelessness and provide affordable, good quality homes) owns and manages a number of Private Rented Sector (PRS) properties as well as key worker housing located in Wembley Park. First Wave Housing is a registered provider of social housing. As well as regular reporting, this role will look at development opportunities and prepare analysis/business cases as appropriate. You will be expected to provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the company boards, improve business processes and reporting, and will manage one person who is also dedicated to providing both organisations with first-class accounting support.
Systems: Oracle and Excel.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant and will have a good understanding of housing, having worked in local government or in social/community housing. This role will require you to work relatively independently of the council’s finance team and you will have a reporting line to the independent boards managing the two companies. You will understand development appraisals and have a good understanding of capital accounting.
