Your new role 

The key focus of this role is providing strategic financial advice to the Adult Social Care leadership team. You will work closely with Heads of Service and budget holders to provide support during budget monitoring, budget setting and closing of accounts. You will work closely with colleagues within the Care, Health and Wellbeing directorate to ensure adequate reporting on the receipt and spend of the significant funding within this area. Responsible for the line management of 2 staff members, you will provide guidance and support as required and provide leadership to insure their development.

Systems: Oracle and excel

What you'll need to succeed 

You will be a qualified accountant and will ideally understand adult social care finance or at least have an appreciation of how care packages work and the associated funding sources. If you have not worked in the specialism directly you must be capable of communicating that you have a very clear understanding of the area and the likely challenges. You should be comfortable explaining complex information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-financial managers as well as work well with external partners in areas such as health.
