My client is a national not-for-profit performing arts organisation. They are going through an exciting period of growth and change that will expand their operations and how they deliver theatre. They are now seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a key role which will be instrumental to their growth plans and future.

Key areas of responsibilities;

• Assisting with month end processes by processing various income and expenditure items including their reconciliation.
• Preparing balance sheet accounts reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT and withholding tax returns.
• Overall responsibility for all capital expenditure including budgets, maintaining the fixed asset register and posting monthly depreciation.
• Preparation of the statutory accounts including auditors lead schedules and lead on the audit.
• To challenge financial processes and work with the Director of Finance to improve the control environment in the organisation.

Who are we looking for?

• A formally qualified accountant or qualified by experience accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral, able to communicate effectively with finance professionals, senior management and trustees, and non-accountants to achieve cooperation and results
• You’ll be practical, pragmatic and enjoy working as part of a small team in a busy environment
