Aldern House, Baslow Rd, Bakewell DE45 1AE, UK
From £38,223 up to £43,421 per annum

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a full time qualified Accountant to join our small finance team in Bakewell to support the running of our financial and accounting processes and ensure that the Authority continues to comply with financial regulations and professional standards of financial activity.

About You

We’re looking for a highly motivated person to support the Finance Manager and the finance service; you will be CCAB qualified (or part qualified with a commitment to attain a full qualification), and provide an efficient, effective and dynamic finance management service to the Authority including improving financial understanding across the park.

You will be a key member of the team with good technical accountancy skills working on budgets, budget monitoring and contributing to the year-end  processes. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the fixed asset register as well as the capital accounting and notes for the Statement of Accounts.

The Authority implemented a new finance system in October and is introducing a new asset management system before March so you will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of financial systems.

You will need to be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex financial data and accounting requirements to non-finance budget holders and managers. You will need experience of meeting deadlines, working with systems, and using complex spreadsheets as well as experience of year end and budget processes.
