About the role

Break free from letting the numbers do all the talking! Here at Crawley we’re focused on bringing finance out of the shadows of the back office. Gone are the days of spending all our time on data manipulation, reconciliations and reports. We’re also working on building collaborative relationships with our non-finance colleagues, helping to ensure that finance acts as a valued partner at the heart of decision-making across the organisation.

To succeed you will have the perfect blend of technical and interpersonal skills. You will be talented at seeing the value in the information you provide and to inspire others to make use of it.  Your ability to listen, interpret, influence, negotiate and challenge respectfully means that budget holders and other colleagues will call upon you as trusted partner, playing a part in resolving issues and in making decisions.

You will be AAT level 4 or part-qualified CCAB (study support will be provided for the right candidate), with experience of providing financial advice and support to managers. You will have knowledge of budgetary control, financial management and financial planning. Knowledge and understanding of local government finance would be advantageous but not essential.

We currently operate a hybrid working model with a minimum requirement of days a week in the office, with staff able to work the rest of the week from home. We have also recently moved into our new town hall which boasts a modern, high specification workspace, equipped with the latest technology for a blend of hybrid and in-office working. 

Study support is available for candidates who are partially qualified and aspire to reach full qualification.
