It’s an exciting time to join Ealing Council. We have a new leadership team on board to help us deliver our vision and ambitions.  

We are looking for three qualified Principal Accountant’s to help shape our future ambitions by leading on budgeting and forecasting within the Children’s and Schools Finance Team (2 posts) and our Housing Finance Team. These are important roles within the Finance Team, providing financial support and advice to the Services Senior Leadership Team.

About the roles
The Principal Accountant posts covers budget setting, budget monitoring and year end closedown processes across revenue and capital programmes, as well as providing financial support to strategic projects. These posts will also lead on key statutory returns, plans and reports. In addition, these will provide support to the Finance Manager in leading and developing the Team to provide great service to budget holders and other stakeholders, including schools.

About you
The post holders will be analytical and be able to maintain effective business partnering relationships with budget holders, managers and elected members, communicating key financial information in a clear and concise manner. The ability to manage complex workloads within deadlines is important, as is the confidence to challenge and provide constructive and professional advice where necessary. You will need to be a fully qualified accountant for these posts. Demonstratable Knowledge of the issues facing Social Care, Education DSG/High needs funding, Housing development projects, Major project appraisal, HRA, General Fund Temporary Accommodation and related services would be beneficial in being successful within these respective roles.

Ealing offers a hybrid working arrangement with some flexibility as to when working from our offices is required. Candidates should expect to attend the office at least 4 times per month depending on business needs.
