Director of Finance

Exciting opportunity has arisen to for a Director of Finance join a stable and secure multi academy trust and charitable foundation who are about to embark on a period of growth, in particular, building a new school in 2024.

As a result of the growth and transition to being multi academy, this comprehensive Director of Finance role has arisen.  It’s a key role that will help deliver the foundation’s finances, provide dynamic leadership and financial management.

This is a fantastic organization whose mission is to enhance the future outcome of the children they support and enabling children to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities of the Director of Finance will include;

• Provide strategic leadership, direction and management in Finance, ensuring high standards and the development of systems appropriate to the organisation
• Develop a 3 year financial plan
• Ensure that the financial model is scalable and supports the organisations growth and maintains it as a going concern
• Ensure the Foundation is investing and fundraising most effectively
• Leading the preparation and delivery of an annual draft budget plan for consideration by the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee Monitor in-year and cumulative reserves, approving spending from reserves where appropriate and reporting to the Finance and Audit Committee
• Developing checklists for month-end reports to ensure that reports are prepared on a reliable and consistent basis and prepare the consolidated monthly management accounts
• Governance and compliance, review policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations

In order to be successful in this Director of Finance role, you must be a formally qualified accountant who has gained their senior leadership experience in a similar role, either from within a charity or regulated not-for-profit organization.  Experience of schools finance would be highly desirable.

The role will be based near Heathrow, and there is a requirement to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.
