The Finance Business Partner role is a pivotal role within the Finance department ensuring that financial statements are robust whilst working with the Head of Finance to develop and improve the financial processes and understanding across the group. This is a challenging but extremely rewarding role, offering extensive opportunity for personal development within an organisation that is anticipating spinning out to be an independent entity over the next couple of years.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support budget holders with financial processes and information that underpins decision-making and achievement of operational and strategic plans. Develop longer term financial models, plans and other analytical reports for the programme, as required. Analyse, comment on and challenge proposed plans throughout the process Developing effective working relationships that influence and challenge senior management; providing a liaison between the Finance team and the teams within the business; Work with the Finance team to ensure operation of an effective internal control framework to ensure statutory accounting, tax, and legal requirements are fulfilled; Supporting wider Finance Team projects

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) and likely to come from an Public Sector background. You will have robust technical skills and a driven and proactive approach. You will be analytically-minded with excellent organisational and project management skills. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, flexible in approach but firm when necessary, who can work on their own initiative and thrives when thinking and acting proactively. You be able to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders and possess the ability to influence and build rapport with a range of finance and non-finance persons across the organisation. Enthusiasm for international development is a must.
