We are transforming the way we work to create a single unified officer core to service both of our Councils. This is an ambitious partnership which is good for both Councils, good for our residents, good for our staff and could also be good for you.
As a Director, you will join us right at the beginning of our journey, as we pursue a radical change programme to combine the resources of our organisations so that we can achieve more together for our communities. There is considerable scope and autonomy for you to influence the direction we take, to get us to where we need to be.
To be a success in this role you’ll possess a professional, academic or management qualification or relevant professional experience, as well as evidence of sustained personal and professional development, with a successful track record at a senior management level of achieving improved key priority outcomes.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of the legal, financial, and political workings of local government, and be ready to use current best practice to tackle a wide range of challenges. You will work collaboratively with the senior leadership teams across both Councils to ensure we reach our full potential.
You will be an inspirational, charismatic and motivating leader with a track record of promoting and delivering positive solutions to achieve diversity and equality of opportunity, you’ll also have the ability to understand the varying needs of your colleagues, find solutions to complex issues, and move quickly to develop contingency and mitigation strategies, understanding what it takes to create the #oneteam.
