About the role

As part of our Financial Services team you will support our Finance Manager by providing an efficient and effective accountancy service to achieve our financial objectives. You will empower service managers to take control and manage their own finances by providing financial support and advice. Day-to-day this busy and varied role will see you preparing specific service budgets and providing details for monthly budget monitoring. The role also offers opportunities to be involved in the preparation of insurance budgets and supporting processes, bank reconciliation, VAT and many other important aspects of the Finance service.

About you

Along with working towards, or having gained, AAT or an equivalent qualification, you will have a proven track record in a similar role (ideally in the public sector). Competent in the use of IT-based financial systems and spreadsheet formulation, you will also be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a great team player. You will possess excellent communication skills and be confident working with a wide variety of stakeholders as you share information and advice; communicating technical financial information in easy to understand language to continually improve our financial performance across the Council. You will occasionally need to be able to work out of office hours and attend evening meetings.
