Resources Directorate – Accountancy Services. We are looking to recruit a CCAB or CIMA qualified Senior Accountant to join our Accountancy Services Team at an exciting time for the city.

You will be responsible for providing analysis and assistance to the Principal Accountant (Projects) to support development projects across the Council. This will include the preparation and advice to project managers and services on Revenue and Capital budgets and financial evaluation, project costing and sensitivity analysis.

We are looking for someone who can produce accurate, timely and comprehensive financial and statistical information and who has the ability to present this information to a variety of audiences. Experience of financial monitoring of regeneration projects, along with experience of externally or grant funded regimes and their specific reporting requirements would be advantageous.

The post holder will have the ability to work as part of a team and achieve objectives through performance management and must possess strong planning, organisational and co-ordination skills. An understanding and up-to-date knowledge of the latest local authority capital accounting requirements is essential.

This is an exciting time to be in Preston and the directorate is playing its part in making the city a great place to live, work and visit. The Council is currently trialling a hybrid working arrangement for all office-based services, where the service allows.
