We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative CCAB qualified accountant who can lead the Authority’s Resources Service, developing a strong business partnering approach to the provision of financial, property, ICT and project management services to the Authority.

You will lead a range of highly motivated and committed teams who are keen to support service delivery across the whole organisation through the effective management of the Authority’s resources and assets.

You will be the Authority’s Section 151 Officer, responsible for all aspects of effective financial management and for leading and driving innovation and effective customer service across your teams.

This is an interesting and varied role, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a significant contribution to the way the Authority works.

What’s it like to work here?

Our National Park team is passionate about the landscape and proud of the work we do to look after it and help people enjoy it. We are innovative and agile in our approach to work, ensuring we get the best from our resources.

You will be based at our headquarters in Kendal, but we are open to discussions about working in a more flexible, hybrid way if desired.

You will be part of the Authority’s Strategic Leadership Team, and will work closely with Members, Management and budget holders to deliver great services.

Your role

The Lake District National Park Authority Resources Service provides high-quality, reliable services to the Authority that are valued across the organisation. About you

You will be a qualified accountant with a track record of leading teams and delivering a high-quality service to customers. You will have a proven track record of leading financial management within an organisation and ideally experience of leading wider resources functions, though the latter is not essential for the role.

You will be confident and comfortable in leading service development and in developing organisational strategies. You will be confident in providing sound advice to Members, the Strategic Leadership Team, Managers and staff on a wide range of resources matters.

Your leadership style will be inclusive and you will inspire your team and organisational colleagues to move forward towards new ways of working.
