We have an excellent opportunity for a CCAB qualified accountant (preferably CIPFA) to join our Finance Team.

The successful applicant will be expected to manage the Accountancy and Exchequer services which includes the production of the Financial Statements, Revenue Budget, Capital Programme, managing the Insurance portfolio, Exchequer services and Treasury Management. You will also be expected to support the Chief Financial Officer in the strategic management of the Borough’s finances and deputise for them in their absence. The Council’s Revenue Budget is £12 million per annum and you will have 10 staff reporting to you.

Applicants should have significant experience in financial leadership and operational management at a senior level in local government.

Amber Valley is an attractive place to live and work and is easily accessible from the M1 and A38 and is close to Derby. It is the largest Borough/District in Derbyshire and has a population of 121,000.

The Council offers a hybrid working policy and flexible working hours. The administrative offices are based in Ripley and we provide free car parking and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme. In addition, the salary of this post attracts a Market Supplement payment.
