Job Details
Wigan council is looking for talented and motivated individuals for an exciting opportunity within Finance. This will include invaluable work experience across a wide range of financial services including Environmental Services, Systems, Internal Audit, Adults Services and Schools. Successful candidates will be primarily based in either internal audit or one of our accountancy teams and in addition to this main placement you will gain a broad range of experience through rotations into other financial disciplines.
You do not need past experience in finance to apply, just a passion for it and a willingness to learn. Successful applicants will benefit from a four-year programme offering excellent personal and professional development, including a structured induction programme, development of leadership and management skills, as well as full support to undertake the CIPFA qualification.
About you:
You must be a well organised, good communicator with the ability to work unsupervised and follow procedures to deliver accurate, high-quality work to strict deadlines. You must have good IT and analytical skills and a passion for finance.
You will either be an existing graduate, final year student or have AAT Level 4 and be committed to studying towards the CIPFA Qualification.
