A rare opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, proactive and customer focused individual to join the Council’s high performing Finance team.  This is a one year fixed term contract position working 37 hours per week.

The role of this post will be to assist in providing financial support and advice on the Council’s budget and final accounts and the completion of VAT statutory returns to ensure that the Council meets its statutory financial obligations.

The ideal candidate will have a CCAB accounting qualification, although candidates who are currently studying for a CCAB accountancy qualification will also be considered.  Also they will have a minimum of two years appropriate experience for this post, including the use of computerised financial systems and be educated to a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade A-C or equivalent.  The successful candidate will have strong numeracy and accuracy skills, good customer care and general computer skills, with the ability to use spreadsheets to their full effectiveness.  Knowledge of VAT and CIS would also be an advantage.

Flexible working opportunities are available.
