We are looking to recruit an experienced CCAB or CIMA qualified Group Accountant to lead our Strategic Finance Team. The main duties of the post holder will be to promote and deliver a strategic focus that meets the Councils’ business objectives and financial planning requirements. This includes the responsibility for the operation of Treasury Management, the management of the Capital Accounting and Insurance functions and maintaining the records for the Councils earmarked reserves.

Candidates should have experience of strategic finance particularly treasury, closure of accounts and statutory financial reporting with a drive to find service and process improvements, with the skills and desire to maximise the use of technology.

The post holder will have the ability to work as a team and show the necessary enthusiasm required to fulfil this role to its optimum.  Excellent management and communication skills are required with the ability to build relationships at all levels. Confidence to exercise your own initiative and the ability to influence decision making is also key.
