Deputy Section 151 Officer

CIPFA-Penna are supporting a local authority organisation who are in search of an Interim Head of Finance & Deputy Section 151 Officer.

Working closely with the organisation’s current Director of Resources and Chief Executive, the successful candidate will lead the Council’s financial services function, lead a diverse finance team and support the wider SMT across the Council – including supporting the delivery of a defined transformation programme.

Starting straight away, the successful candidate will immediately immerse themselves in championing excellence across financial resources and management, play a crucial role in the success of the transformation programme across a variety of services and will play an active role in identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements in all areas of the finance service. 

To be considered, you’ll ideally be available to start immediately and have had recent experience at a senior leadership level within a local authority / local government organisation. A fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA), you’ll have demonstrable leadership qualities coupled with sound technical knowledge of local government finance.
