Band I, £45,648 - £49,662 per annum

As a successful district council, North West Leicestershire has every reason to be confident about the future. We have a booming economy, which includes all the benefits of having East Midlands Airport in the district, we are working with partners to establish the East Midlands Freeport and the regeneration of Coalville continues apace, including the recent opening of a new £21m leisure centre. The Council has worked hard as a team over the last 18 months to support our residents and we have emerged stronger than ever. Like many other authorities, we are moving to a ‘hybrid’ model of operating which will result in increased remote working, greater flexibility and changes to our accommodation strategy. We are now looking ahead to ensure that the council is equipped to thrive in what is a challenging financial situation across the sector.

As our new Finance Team Manager, reporting to the Head of Finance (S151), you will need to be a CCAB qualified accountant or equivalent and have experience of budget preparation, both revenue and capital, and extensive experience of financial management in an organisation of similar size and complexity. We are looking for someone with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence outcomes and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in order to provide financial information and advice to a wide range of users to help them make sound financial decisions. We are not restricting our search to people with a local government background; assuming you have the appropriate financial qualifications and experience, we are more interested in your ability to work corporately, bring fresh thinking and offer robust and assured advice.
