Director of Finance (Deputy s151)

CIPFA-Penna have been appointed to support the appointment of a new Interim Director of Finance for a large unitary authority. This role will be offered on an interim basis for approx. 6 months or more.

As well as providing full financial support to the Director of Resources, the successful candidate will similarly guide and support Directors from across the authority in relation to a myriad of strategic and financial objectives that will shape operational activity. Furthermore, the appointee will provide impetus and strategic direction to an evolving and far-reaching transformation programme.

We’re looking for practical, results-focussed senior finance leaders with a strong record of transformation from another large local authority organisation. Preferably, the successful candidate will have previous experience of capably steering such a programme as well as having sharpened strategic nous – allowing for meaningful influence in senior circles, making the necessary changes land more effectively. Finally, a demonstrable track record of notable achievement gained in another Director-level role would be of great advantage.
