CIPFA-Penna are supporting a local authority organisation who are in search of an Interim Head of Finance & Deputy Section 151 Officer.

Working closely with the organisation’s current Director of Resources and Chief Executive, the successful candidate will support on improving financial resilience and governance across the council, lead a diverse finance team and support the wider SMT across the Council.

Starting straight away, there will also be immediate support required on giving the council better insight of its performance, planning and carrying out actions plans to address any issues identified, support on the range of important projects across the council, develop the MTFS and lead the council through a robust budgeting process.

To be considered, you’ll ideally be available to start immediately and have had recent experience at a senior leadership level within a local authority / local government organisation. A fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA), you’ll have demonstrable leadership qualities coupled with sound technical knowledge of local government finance.
