CIPFA-Penna are working in partnership with a local authority in the Midlands to appoint an interim Financial Services Manager for a period of 6 months.
The primary focus of the role will be to lead the council through year-end closure of accounts and the subsequent liaison with the Auditors. Additionally, it will involve the leadership and guidance of the council’s finance team, providing partnership and guidance to a wide audience of staff (including councillors) and supporting the Section 151 Officer in the operation and development of council-wide financial activities.
We are searching for a fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with sound technical experience and preferably a proven track record of leading other local authorities through accounts closure processes and good experience of leading finance teams.
