An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Senior Business Partner to join the Financial Management and Strategy Team to support the Council’s Enterprising Council approach and new centralised finance operating model.
You will have:
- A CCAB qualification (or equivalent).
- Substantial experience of working in a large and complex finance environment preferably within local government.
- Experience of leading and motivating a team.
- Experience of working in a political environment.
- Strong ability to design, establish and maintain complex financial models.
- Ability to shape and influence the strategic direction and balance service and Finance business needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and advisory skills and the ability to influence and persuade people at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You will play a key role in:
- Lead a designated finance function to ensure effective service delivery aligned with Council priorities.
- Act as the professional expert on all aspects of the service area, providing appropriate specialist advice to all stakeholders.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining financial accounting policies, procedures, systems, and business practices, including the technical analysis and financial modelling of complex financial data, considering risks, reputational damage, financial and non-financial benefits of council wide projects and programmes.
- Contributing to the strategic planning activities of the Council, including the Council Plan and Departmental Service Plan.
