Finance Controller / Manager - HealthMoni (Fintech for Social Care)

The role will be to manage the finances and reporting as HealthMoni develops new products and services for the U.K. Health and Social Care sector. This is a start up company developing new services for a critical U.K. market sector. It requires financial controllership of the company business plan and the development of other reporting critical to achieving the companies mission.

The position will suit someone with an already established successful career in financial management but would like to be part of a business that will make a significant social impact. It will also provide an opportunity to learn other aspects of business growth related to financial reporting for example being part of a company attaining B Corporation certification, raising capital, financial process redesign and using external metrics to demonstrate marketplace value.

Experience

  • Book keeping of a small business
  • Establishing procedures of statutory reporting
  • Business metrics reporting using monthly management dashboards and key performance indicators
  • VAT Reporting
  • R&D Tax Credit Reporting
  • Managing payables and receivables
  • Private and Public Sector (CIPFA) exposure an advantage

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Bookkeeping and Accounting systems and processes are in place
  • Ensuring all data capture including timely invoice processing
  • Reporting for the reclaim of monies eligible from authorities including Innovate U.K. and HMRC
  • VAT and R&D Tax reclaim reporting
  • Presentation of financial position against project budget on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Project management controllership
  • Establish and maintain a digital information library (WarRoom)

Skills

  • Ensuring compliance with U.K. accounting standards and other statutory requirements
  • Presentation skills including Oral, Graphic and Document
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate personal professional needs to internal and external parties
  • Listening skills to appreciate the needs of other business stakeholders in order to support them as much as possible

Qualifications

  • Appropriate Finance qualification such as CMA or CPA
  • ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA association
  • Five years plus experience in disciplined financial management environment
