The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is the independent body that regulates and administers the business costs and decides the pay and pensions of the 650 elected Members of Parliament and their staff in the United Kingdom. We were created by the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009, as the world’s first independent regulator of MPs’ financial remuneration.
Allen Lane have partnered with IPSA in supporting their recruitment to the position of Deputy Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation in a strong period of growth, collaborating with senior stakeholders and having the responsibility of supporting the development of the wider finance team.
As Deputy Financial Controller you will develop key relationships and work collaboratively with other internal senior Finance staff; supporting the Financial Controller in ensuring all MP and IPSA finances are appropriately administered and monitored in line with Government Financial Reporting regulations; Leading the financial accounts team to deliver high standards of work and providing support of the year end accounts.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and ambitious. They will have demonstrated their ability in supporting a finance team to success whilst also being hands on supporting day to day financial operations. The appointed candidate will additionally be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CiPFA or CIMA) and have advanced use of Excel. Whilst previous experience within the Public sector is preferred we strongly encourage candidates from other sectors to apply should they have the prior key requirements.
