East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is looking for a new addition to its Finance Team within Business Partnering, with the main hospital site based in Stevenage at the Lister.

Working in Stevenage, the Finance team is committed to delivering an outstanding service to its clinicians and operational stakeholders to support and deliver the best care to its patients and community.

The Finance Team is looking for a Deputy Finance Manager to join its Business Partnering / Management Accounting team.

The Finance Department is located approximately 2 miles from the Main Hospital site within easy driving distance of Stevenage town centre and major roads. There is a free inter-site bus service for all staff which stops between the town centre, main hospital and finance department based at Avnet House.

This role is targeted at accountants who have worked in a customer facing role and who have experience of managing teams, improvement projects and demonstrating outstanding customer service.

This is a senior role, where you will be leading and line managing a team of junior accountants, apprentices and graduate trainees, who are hungry, committed and looking to develop.

The successful post-holder can be qualified or part qualified, who demonstrates outstanding customer service, where you will take a lead on the reporting, forecasting and leading on service developments and cases for change within Finance and within the Clinical Division. We welcome applications who have Non-NHS accounting experience including Internal and External Audit, Private, and Third Sector.

This role will be supporting the Planned Care Division. This Division comprises of all Surgical and Clinical Support services. Planned Care is a progressive Division working in a new Divisional Structure which was established in November 2020. It is an improving Division which has been involved in a number of successful financial bids for the benefits of our patients, staff and community. Key highlights include:

  • Successful bidding for funding for new Surgical Robots for use in theatres.
  • Successful bid for becoming a Community Diagnostics Hub worth over £40million
  • The Successful bid to become a Vascular Hub with a national business case pending for funding for a new Hybrid Theatre for Hertfordshire and West Essex.
