CIPFA-Penna are partnering a Midlands-based local authority organisation (district council) to support in the recruitments of a Senior Management Accountant. The role is offered on an interim basis for an initial period of 3 months, with a string possibility that they’ll need someone for longer.

As a Senior Management Accountant stepping in for an out-going member of permanent staff and managing a small team, the successful post-holder will largely be responsible for coordination of revenue monitoring, budget monitoring and budget setting. Guiding the workload and signing off the work of the team, you’ll also take a ‘hands-on’ approach and meet with many budget-holders yourself.

Previous experience in a similar role within local authority would be advantageous, as would string excel skills and relationship-building qualities (in particular, with non-finance people). Though there is a preference for someone to attend the Midlands-based office semi-regularly, those working remotely are also being considered.
