Allen Lane are currently working with a local authority to recruit a Finance Business Partner to provide specialist financial advice to their Schools directorate as well as other related projects. This schools finance expert will lead on the technical support for the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) funding.

The department is currently going through a reorganisation so the successful candidate will need to have tenacity to work through those changes and will also manage the transition to new arrangements for managing strategic finance support for schools.

  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Assistant Director of Schools and oversee budget construction for all DSG budgets
  • Manage transition to new arrangements for managing strategic financial advice and support for schools
  • Writing reports for Schools Forum on the financial strategy and on detailed aspects of the implications of elements from national / local schools funding arrangements

Strong detailed knowledge of schools finance arrangements is essential, along with experience of working with Schools Forums. Excellent analytical skills will be required to make sense of complex issues, articulating financial strategies or picking out the most salient issues for stakeholders to consider.

The organisation is able to wait a reasonable notice if you are in a position currently, so if you have the required skills for this position and are looking for a new challenge then please apply. Please note that due to the urgent time frames on this post applications will be reviewed prior to closing date and as such immediate application is recommended.
