CIPFA-Penna are proudly supporting this public sector organisation (emergency services) in the West Midlands appoint an Interim Treasurer to guide the business through the budgeting period and advise on permanent recruitment of the post. The role will be offered on a part0time basis for a period of approx. 6 months and the successful candidate will also take up the statutory position of s151 Officer.

Acting as the primary financial advisor to several members of the executive leadership team, the post-holder will lead on the preparation of financial strategies in line with executive objectives, and that these strategies are delivered and managed efficiently. Managing the relationship with senior directors and executives will be key in this role, partnering with them to challenge from a place of credibility, align themselves to non-finance pressures and challenges from a place of professional empathy, and advise / guide on a wide range of priorities (including organisational change and culture shift) from a place of balanced surety.

This interim position may well suit an experienced Director of Finance or s151 Officer who is able to offer 2-3 days per week to an assignment in which they are still able to make a meaningful difference and leave a lasting legacy. Ideally, the successful candidate will be well-practiced at building relationships with, and influencing, senior executives in a public sector environment.
