WM College is an Institute of Adult Learning based in the heart of Camden, north London.  The College is all about providing opportunities and transforming the lives and prospects of our learners.  We know that we need to be great stewards of our financial resources and apply them wisely to maximise these opportunities and provide the best possible experience for learners.  So we are seeking a Director of Finance who shares that passion and will bring strong leadership, management and rigour to the Finance and Payroll function to deliver an outstanding service to learners, staff and external agencies and stakeholders.

The College has good financial strength with a strong balance sheet and income from a mixture of revenue grants, capital grants, learner fees and some commercial and investment activity.  However, these are challenging times for public finances and we are seeking a strong financial leader to help ensure we retain that strength.  You will develop strong reporting and forecasting strategies in the finance department and oversee their implementation as well as present financial performance to the Executive Management Team and the College Governors.

The Finance Department is small, so this role could suit someone looking for their first Directorship and the role will mix strategic leadership and project management with functional operational management, as well as committing time to budget holders to lead and support them in the interpretation and control of their budgets and expenditure.
