Strategic Rent Accountant

We are working with an innovative Central London Borough that is focused on creating tangible ways of making their residents lives better.

The Strategic Rent Accountant will manage a team of 4 supporting the Head of Service in the delivery of sound Housing financial information. The role is responsible for the strategic and management information of operational housing charging and reporting functions within the directorate. Key responsibilities will include;

• Leading on rent income accounting, calculation of rents, administration of service charges and the monitoring of the rents income
• Playing a lead role in the production of the HRA rent setting Cabinet report and provide business partnering and management reporting for the housing management division
• Supporting the driving up of overall collection performances for rent, service charges and ancillary services
• Driving through a culture of continuous improvement across the team and directorate

To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified accountant with strong leaderships skills and the ability to communicate complex information to non-finance staff. Proven experience of rent accounting in either a Housing Association or Local Government setting is essential.
