Championing Financial Expertise

As a large organisation with a strong track record in financial management we’re looking for committed and purposeful individuals to join our high-performing Finance Team, where you'll feel supported and valued, with opportunities to develop and progress in your finance career.

Our Finance Team is pro-active and innovative and has a key role to play in enabling the County Council and its partners to achieve their service delivery objectives whilst also supporting effective decision making and the stewardship of resources.

As an Accountant you'll be leading a professional team delivering high quality financial advice and guidance, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer needs in applying your technical expertise and meeting professional standards. You'll promote a commercial focus in ensuring risks and issues are appropriately considered and reported as part of transformational work and service improvement projects, leading by example with your positive and collaborative approach to change. You'll do this while also ensuring the successful delivery of core budget monitoring, budget preparation and year end accounting tasks in accordance with financial regulations, with support from your senior colleagues.

You'll be working in a fast-paced professional environment, and therefore need to multi-task while maintaining high standards alongside supporting and developing your team. You'll need strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, with good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships. Strong IT skills, an understanding of the public sector and experience with financial systems would be an advantage.

Please note CVs will be used for context only. Invitations to interview will be based on how you meet
requirements of the role as set out in the application form.
