With the unique challenges of working in the public sector, joining our Finance department will give you exposure to a wide range of issues that you simply wouldn’t find anywhere else. As the financial demands continue to grow, you’ll find its never business as usual.
We are looking for two motivated and competent Senior Accounting Technicians to join our Financial Management Team to deliver all aspects of a management accounting role reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner. The posts will be supporting an array of services and major projects within the Neighbourhoods and Regeneration Directorates.
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or have a relevant equivalent qualification and be able to communicate and work effectively with budget managers and partners. You will also have experience of budgetary control and financial management in an organisation, as well as being an organised individual with a high attention to detail.
You will be a team player, who can quickly build strong relationships with the team and Service Managers and will thrive on working collaboratively to achieve outcomes for the Council. A flexible approach and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
In return we can offer you a comprehensive benefits package including flexible working, a local government pension scheme, 31 days annual leave, employee discount benefits, and access to a range of technologies to support modern ways of working.
For further information or an informal discussion please contact Ann Barber on the following number, 821000 ext 6312 or email ann.barber@iow.gov.uk
