Are you interested in working at the heart of London government within a dynamic Finance team?
Working within a professional finance team, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation of the Authority’s annual budget, undertake the role of Senior Accountant for the Communities and Skills directorate monitoring of income and expenditure, providing high level financial advice and undertaking financial due diligence for GLA programmes. Promoting strong financial management and working with Directorates to ensure robust financial and performance reporting will be core to your role at the GLA.
These posts are ideal for someone looking to develop their accountancy career in a fast-moving environment. As a CCAB qualified accountant, you will have an understanding of local government finance and strong accounting and Excel skills. You should also be a confident communicator who is able to foster great working relationships with those you work with and relish working to challenging deadlines.
A flexible approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
1x Senior Accountant (Communities and Skills Directorate):
- Focused on GLA programmes in Finance, Corporate, Facilities Management and Technology Group, as well as consolidation of reporting.
1x Senior Accountant (Resources Directorate):
- Focused on GLA programmes for a wide range of ‘people’ programmes and initiatives covering culture, education, sport, health, children and young people, diversity and wider social policy.
The Mayor has announced that City Hall will be relocating from More London (London Bridge) to the Crystal Building in the Royal Docks. These roles will be based at The Crystal Building (from January 2022). Further information on the relocation announcement, can be found here.
