Finance Manager – £47,292 - £54,256 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join our Finance Service at Cheshire West and Chester. The role will involve managing a specialised area of activity and / or leading and developing new initiatives to ensure that costs, benefits and risks are fully evaluated and acting as the lead finance service point of contact supporting special projects to ensure the Council’s interests are safeguarded and benefits are realised.

You should have in depth experience in a financial manager role, preferably within the public sector or local government, experience of staff management at a senior level and a demonstrable record of completed projects of an original and technically challenging nature as well as a proven ability to lead transformation activity and manage organisational change and development within a financial/performance environment.

We are looking for highly motivated and effective self-starters, who can work across diverse services and subject areas, with practical problem-solving abilities, an ability to effectively appraise, evaluate and communicate complex financial and strategic issues and options, a positive attitude to change and innovation and an ability to plan and prioritise competing workload demands and to organise and motivate staff.

We are looking to recruit to 3 full time (37 hours) temporary positions for 18 months.

The roles would benefit from flexible working arrangements but would primarily involve working from home, allied with access to office facilities in key locations across the borough when required.
