Interim Capital Accountant

CIPFA-Penna are delighted to be working with a local authority who is seeking a Capital Accountant for an initial period of 9-12 months to support and co-ordinate the development of the Council’s capital strategy.  

You will lead on capital accounting and monitoring arrangements in the development and maintenance of strategic capital management plans and accounting arrangements and ensuring that this is line with statutory and legislative requirements.

You will be expected to provide high quality professional and technical advice to members, senior officers, and service finance teams on a very broad range of financial issues relating to capital funding and spending, ensuring compliant with Codes of Practice and capital regulations.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant (CIPFA or equivalent). You must have a detailed knowledge of the accounting requirements in relation to capital and revenue expenditure.
