Allen Lane are delighted to be working in partnership with a London University on the recruitment of a permanent Finance Business Partner. This pivotal role will report the Director of Finance and be responsible for providing financial and strategic support for the commercial affairs of the University.
The Finance Business Partner role will partner with the Director of Commercial services and be responsible for:
- Provide the key budget holder with financial advice and analysis to allow them to manage their budget effectively
- Maintain and build effective business partnering relationships across all areas of remit
- Assess and evaluate potential business and investment opportunities. Scenario modelling and providing advice around financial feasibility
- Analysis of commercial initiatives and projects and proving commentary and advice
- Provide accurate forecasting and making sure there are processes and controls in place to support this
- Drive the development of effective costing and pricing of new activities
- Work with key stakeholders to develop robust annual budgets
- Develop capital and revenue project budgets for areas of responsibility including quarterly forecasts and commentary
- Development of quarterly forecasts and commentary on movements from budget and variations from year to date spend trends
The ideal candidate:
- A qualified Accountant
- Experience of working in a larger complex organisation, experience of the education sector is not essential
- Significant experience in finance business partnering including costings and scenario modelling
- Experience of evaluating business cases and projects
- Proactive and confident with excellent communication skills
