Are you a customer orientated Part Qualified Accountant with the ability to ensure effective financial management? Can you effectively manage a team to ensure key financial controls are maintained?
An Accountant position has arisen for a dynamic individual, that can interpret and explain complex directives and guidelines, as well as review, develop and implement accounting systems and procedures. Along with managing the team that is responsible for the day to day treasury management and banking administration.
We are seeking 1 post holder to work a 37-hour week. Working hours are typically daytime, Monday to Friday. Both Qualified and Part Qualified status will be considered.
Interviews will commence as soon as possible in relation to an application being completed.
You will ensure the Council’s key financial reconciliations are completed and assist with the resolving issues as identified. You will play a pivotal part in the leadership of the team, by offering continued support and development and process improvement.
In regard to service delivery, you will be able to offer excellent financial advice and ensure sound financial information is provided. Oversight of banking, cash management and occasional project work will further reflect a busy day to day role as part of an exceptional team.
What you'll need
You will be a proven Accountant with fundamental knowledge of best financial practices within a similar setting. You will have extensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial systems etc as well as be a natural leader with direct skill in leadership and the management of a small team.
Systems exposure will be of huge advantage, especially when dealing with complex financial information that requires interpretation. Lastly, experience in a large organisation will be essential to ensure smooth transition into the post.
The successful candidate must have membership to a CCAB body, part Qualified or Qualified status.
